After the dream, 2012

Japanese designer, Kenya Hara says, ‘white can be attained by blending all the colours of the spectrum together, or through the subtraction of ink and all other pigments. In short, it is “all colours” and “no colour” at the same time’. For me, white is not a colour but more a state, like the beginning and the ending of something, ie a memory. The condition of white in my work acts as a kind of void, where an internal transformation can occur.

The balls are abstract things of human hearts at any stages of life between birth and death. So they could be said like eggs, skulls and also sperm. A life has only a birth and a death but it exists on a lot of births and deaths and it will influence many new lives in the future. In this work, I express not individual lives nor deaths but an endless life circulation in a long history.
