My artistic theme is expression in praise of nature. In this work, I tried to bring such expression into daily life as a functional box.
The body part, porcelain, and the lid which is made of feldspar, a kind of glaze material, are similar in substance. However, only the feldspar can be melted in a particular temperature. The body and the lid are fired at the same time and the lid melts down along the body. I control the whole melting process, as if the lid shape naturally occurs.
The box, which looks like still melting, conveys the flow of time. Moreover, it shows the beautiful contrasts of solid and fluid, organic and geometric, nature and art.
